JOURNAL DEVELOPMENT
The Journal Development Unit operating under Marmara University Press provides comprehensive services to ensure that academic journals published within the University operate in a qualified and sustainable manner throughout their publication lifecycle, starting from the application process, in accordance with national and international publishing standards.
Publication Process and Compliance with Standards
Journals are supported in the preparation and monitoring of the publication process, ensuring timely publication in accordance with their designated periodicity, and increasing their visibility and recognition on national and international platforms after publication. Throughout this process, widely accepted academic publishing criteria are adopted as a basis in terms of both format and content.
Support for Editors: Indexing Processes
The Journal Development Unit aims to ensure that journals published under Marmara University Press are included in national and international indices recognized in academic appointment and promotion processes, and to maintain their positions in these indices in the long term. Within this scope:
-
Index application criteria are examined in detail,
-
Journals are evaluated based on the specific and up-to-date criteria of each index,
-
Based on the results of analysis and evaluation, a customized roadmap is developed for each journal.
The support provided within this process serves as guidance for journals during indexing procedures; however, the primary responsibility lies with the journal editorial boards.
Journal Annual Activity Report
The Journal Annual Activity Report, prepared by our expert team, constitutes one of the core components of journal development activities. Through this report, which is completed by journal editorial boards:
-
The current status of the journal,
-
Publication and evaluation processes,

Statistical data and impact indicators
are analyzed in detail, and based on the findings, continuous improvement of the journal’s formal and content quality is targeted.
