The International Conference on Trends and Perspectives in Linear Statistical Inference (LinStat2016), hosted by Marmara University’s Department of Statistics, was held on August 22–25, 2016, in Istanbul, Turkey. As a continuation of the 2014 Linköping edition, the conference aimed to bring together researchers interested in various aspects of linear statistical inference. Topics included Bayesian and computational statistics, biostatistics, multivariate and mixed models, experimental design, and high-dimensional analysis.

The event featured keynote and contributed sessions, young scientist presentations, posters, and special thematic sessions. A key objective was to encourage professional development and collaboration among young researchers, with awards for the best presentation and poster—whose winners would be invited speakers at the next LinStat conference.

The Scientific and Organizing Committees included distinguished statisticians from Turkey, the UK, Sweden, Poland, Portugal, and Finland. The conference was supported by Marmara University’s BAPKO office and sponsored by Istanbul University, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Gezici Research, and Caffè Vergnano.
